Blade server vendors planning common format

Computing has become more open since the 80s with less chance of ‘vendor lock-in’. However, blade servers have not stuck to a common format so there’s little chance of swapping from one vendor to another, but is all that about to change?

Stock Exchange embraces Linux

The New York Stock Exchange is investing heavily in x86-based Linux systems and blade servers as it builds out the NYSE Hybrid Market trading system that it launched last year.
